3 Master Masons Raised

Prince Hall grand Lodge of Rhode Island Welcomes Three Newly Raised Master Masons

On March 15, 2025, under the jurisdiction of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Rhode Island,  three dedicated brothers—Shannon Ross, Albert DeMiranda, and Samuel Gaston—were proudly raised to the esteemed degree of Master Mason. This significant milestone not only marks their personal commitment to the principles of Freemasonry but also strengthens the enduring legacy of our fraternity. The ceremony took place at the Historic Stone Mill Lodge No. 3, Newport RI.

A Ceremony Rooted in Tradition

The morning commenced with a formal procession, embodying the rich traditions and rituals that have been meticulously preserved over the centuries. The Grand Lodge’s officers and members gathered to witness and participate in the sacred rites, reflecting the unity and brotherhood that define our order.

Guidance Under Experienced Leadership

The degree team, led by Past Master Stan Cameron, executed the ceremony with precision and reverence. Their dedication ensured that the new Master Masons experienced the profound symbolism and teachings inherent in the degree, laying a solid foundation for their Masonic journey.

Embracing New Responsibilities

As Master Masons, Brothers Ross, DeMiranda, and Gaston are now entrusted with greater responsibilities within the lodge and the broader community. Their advancement signifies a deepened commitment to the Masonic values of integrity, charity, and enlightenment.

A Legacy of Resilience and Unity

The Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Rhode Island has faced challenges in recent years, including the devastating fire on Christmas Day 2020 that severely damaged our historic temple at 883 Eddy Street. Despite these setbacks, the lodge has remained a beacon of resilience and unity, continuing its mission to serve and uplift the community.

Looking Ahead

The raising of these three brothers symbolizes the lodge’s ongoing dedication to fostering leadership and moral fortitude. As we continue to rebuild and strengthen our fraternity, we look forward to the positive contributions that Brothers Ross, DeMiranda, and Gaston will undoubtedly make.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our newly raised Master Masons and express profound gratitude to all who participated in and supported this momentous occasion. Together, we uphold the enduring legacy of Prince Hall Freemasonry in Rhode Island.
